Diamonds and Toads Book Tour

When I was a very young girl—before I could even read—I had a fairy tale book entitled My Little Golden Book of Fairy Tales.  In it were the stories of Rapunzel, Beauty and the Beast, and Toads and Diamonds. I could look for hours at the wonderful illustrations by Gordon Laite.

I love fairy tales. Especially the romantic ones. Although, I have to say, I did get a big kick out of The Emperor's New Clothes as a child. It was probably my southern upbringing, but people without clothes were a source of endless giggles and titters for a five-year-old.

Why do you think it is that women love the happy-ever-after stories so much?  I think it's very possible that, just as we say our men never really grow up, so it is, too, for women. But in a different way. While the boys that loved to play with their Hot Wheels may never grow out of their love of a good engine, the girls who liked fairy tales may never grow out of their dream of being swept away by Prince Charming.

DIAMONDS AND TOADS: A MODERN FAIRY TALE is my contemporary take on the original, but with more emphasis on the love story. Crossing genres between hot/steamy contemporary, comedy and fantasy romance, it is written in two parts. The first, concentrates on the "good" Perrault sister, who is blessed by the family fairy with a fortune from diamonds and an engagement to the man of her dreams, while the second concentrates on the "bad" Perrault sister, her curse (her every utterance an obscene and humiliating quip), and her “frogman” ex-lover. In both parts, the fairy’s often comical appearances and maneuverings serve to further the respective plots to their “happily-ever-after” conclusions.

Blurb:

Once upon a time, there were two sisters, one blessed, and one cursed by fairy magic....
So each sister's story begins.

Delilah Perrault is blessed with riches beyond her wildest dreams and the man she's had her eye on for ages--even though he secretly has designs on her newfound wealth instead. Delilah's half-sister, Isadora, is cursed with having her every utterance come out as an obscene and humiliating quip, just when the gorgeous hunk she dumped years before under pressure from mama swaggers back into her life.

If you like Bewitched, Sex and the City and Gossip Girl, if you like stories with humor and sexual heat, try out this modern girl's fairy tale.
