{Review} Lord of Rage: Royal House of Shadows: Book 2 by Jill Monroe

Lord of Rage: Royal House of Shadows: Book 2
Author: Jill Monroe
Publisher: Harlequin
Release Date: September 20, 2011
Genre: Adult: Fiction- Fantasy, Romance

Princess Breena had been dreaming of her warrior lover when she was ripped from her Elden castle and thrown into a strange, dangerous realm. Lost and alone, she prayed for survival and vengeance for her stolen kingdom. She found both in a woodland cottage…in a dark bear of a man.

The golden-haired beauty had eaten his food and slept in his bed when Osborn found her. Though he wanted to awaken his virgin princess to carnal pleasures, Breena wanted more—including his warrior skills. Skills the once-legendary mercenary had long buried. Now Osborn had a choice—risk his life or deny his princess her fairy-tale ending.

Review: While I liked the story, as in the plot, tension, etc. I was torn by the characters, especially Breena. I loved her strong side and hated her princess side. I'd start to warm up to her, thinking maybe she was changing and then she'd do or think something selfish or haughty and it'd crush my hopes. The same went for Osborn he'd be all sexy, and cool then bam he'd get all sentimental. Which, I felt, didn't go with his character at all.
I liked the magic and fighting mixed with the romance and this was spicy for a Harliquien. Yet I couldn't shake the feeling that the charaters were off. Over all I'd have to say this was a decent book.

I received this book via NetGalley.
