Teaser Tuesdays!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

"Mina needed to see for herself. She followed the same steps Brody took and noticed nothing terribly wrong." Loc 2199 on Kindle.

What your teaser this week? Leave a link and I'll stop by.

  1. What fairy tale is this like? Your teaser made me curious to keep reading. Come see my teasers for Pivot Point by Kasie West and Three Sisters by Susan Mallery. Happy reading!

    1. So far I'm leaning toward Little Red Riding Hood, but there are aspects of other tales too. I think I'm going to have to keep reading to figure it out. :)

  6. Hi Shandy,

Great teaser lines, I am wanting to know just what Mina was hoping to find that might have been so out of the ordinary!

I probably won't be adding this to my reading list though, as I am not a huge fan of 'classic' books and writing, being adapted and re-worked for the contemporary reader. They are described as 'classics' for a reason and they should be left as they were originally intended.

Thanks for sharing though and I hope that you are enjoying the book,

    Yvonne.

    1. Well to give it context the her house had been vandalized.

This really isn't a retelling so much as the author using fairy tales in the book, but it does have fairytale aspects. Which I like. But I can understand how some readers prefer classic telling. Although if you really think about it the "classic" tales we have now are retellings of tales people already had.

I love getting comments from folks, but lately most of it has been just spam. I'm going to moderate comments for a while, because I just don't want to deal with people who tack on garbage to their comments.
