{Book Tour} The Sixth Power by Carol Nicolas

When I began Writing

I have been writing short stories and poetry since I was young. My first attempt at a novel was In high school. I had a book report due, but I hadn’t read a book yet that week, so I quickly wrote out a plot summary for an imaginary book and turned it in. Later that day, I felt guilty but also intrigued. I started thinking, what if this was a real book? How would it go? What would happen to the characters? So I began to write. Written in ink on yellow lined paper, my first novel was called The Silent Lover, and it was filled with improbable adventure, sappy romance, the terror of nightmares and physical harm, and of course a very happy ending. I did eventually confess to my English teacher, and I gave her a copy of the finished novel. I’m not sure what she thought of it, but she did encourage me to keep writing. I am very grateful for her encouragement.
