Review: First thing I have to say, despite the basic cover art the illustrations are great. Lots of gore and fine detail that you would expect in a zombie based comic. Let's just say you're not going to want to read this while eating.
The concept of animals being infected with the zombie virus or whatever, you really don't know what causes this outbreak, is new and had a lot of potential. I was really excited to see how this played out. Unfortunately it didn't quite live up to it's potential. The plot was pretty basic, zombie movie stuff. Our "heroes" consist of two punks, a stripper, a sick kid, the President and his chief of staff, I think. None really made me want to route for them, ok maybe the kid but I think that was more pity. On top of the zombie epidemic, there is also a hurricane a comin'. Really? The whole thing, left me thinking that SyFy would love to turn it into it's next made fore tv movie.
The only parts of the book I really liked were the zombie manatees, that was pretty freaken cool, and when the President walks into the red-necks shelter. It was done exceedingly well. Over all impression great artwork, but it needed better writing.
