Avoiding love is hard. Catching a killer can be fatal…

When Rob’s sister passed away, she left him her dog and her house. He can handle the dog part, but he doesn’t need another home. Especially a fixer-upper the neighbor swears is haunted.

Then he meets Bridget, who’s working on getting her life back together after a car accident left her scarred in more ways than one. She can’t pass up Rob’s offer of free lodging, regardless of the shape it’s in. Or the roommate that’s part of the package. She’s never believed in ghosts, but now she’s living with one who wants Bridget’s help in catching a killer. There’s only one problem: the killer has unfinished business…

Review:  Bridget had a bad accident that killed her pregnant best-friend and nearly killed her. Left with survivors guilt, scars and the ability to see dead people, Bridget is trying to get her left back together. She jumps at the chance to house sit for Rob. It means free lodging and getting to ogle her new hunky landlord.
Rob is more than happy to help out his best friend's wife's cousin, when it's someone as cute as Bridget.
I liked Bridget she's strong willed, yet wounded. Rob is dedicated and understanding, yet has his own problems. Usually I'm put off by characters pushing and pulling, but this time I actually felt it was understandable. I was able to empathize with Bridget and felt Rob was too, which made things believable.
Their chemistry was great and made the slow build up of the relationship work.
The plot drew me in, and kept me reading. I felt Charlie, Rob's sister and Bridget's ghostly roommate, was a great way to break the tension and work through things. The mystery aspect was done well and was well balanced with the romance aspect. Over all a really good book, with great characters.
