Teaser Tuesdays

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
Grab your current read
•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

'Families need to take time to talk about how to use technology responsibly. Handing it over without instruction is leading your child blindly into a dangerous environment.'

What's your teaser this week?

  1. Hi Shandy,

I don't have children myself, but I would like to think that when my neces and nephews have families of their own, they would accept their share of the responsibility for keeping their children safe from cyber harm.

Sometimes though, even perfectly cyber savvy and responsible parents, discover that their children are still the object of cyber abuse, so I sincerely believe that the ethics of the internet and social media companies must be called to account, together with much tighter government policy controls.

We all have a duty to protect our young people after all!

Sounds like a good book, although not one for me.

    1. We do, but you also have to be careful when asking the government to control things. The internet and social media companies are in it for the money and that's all, asking them to account for their ethic is probably futile. Anyway thank you for stopping by.

  4. This would be an excellent read for those with children. The teaser helps reiterate the need to prevent children from being bullied and from being the bully. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  5. Very true. I worried when I first gave me son a computer. Talking is a must and not just once.

    1. I get worried about my daughter using our family computer, but it seems to be a fact of life now that we use them. So your right talking is a must. Thanks for stopping by.

  7. I think some parents need to do more parenting. Do we use TV, computers, cell phones...as babysitters? I think this has always been an issue.
