So with snow here, I like warm drinks and for the most part I am a tea drinker. Yet every once and awhile I want something a little different. This hot chocolate is yummy and the kids beg for it after playing in the snow.
1 cup milk of choice
2 rounded teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon sugar (or sweetener of choice)
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
Place milk in a microwave safe cup and microwave until warm. Meanwhile, place cocoa powder, sugar, and vanilla in a small bowl. Slowly add milk to bowl, mixing well. Pour into a mug and sprinkle with cinnamon, if using. Enjoy!
Note: Sometimes I add a little peppermint extract for a minty kick, but just don't over do it. Just a drop will do.
