{Recipe} Super Easy Meaty Chili (Repost)


I was reading something the other day and got a hankering for some chili. I haven't made this in quite a while but I thought why not share. The way I do it is super easy and budget friendly.

Ingredients:
1 66oz Jar of Tomato Sauce or 4 24 oz cans (Note: different brands of sauce result in different flavors so try a bunch until you find your fave. Pasta sauce such as Ragu will result in a sweeter chili.)
1 24 oz Jar Salsa (use whatever heat rating you like)
1-2 Cans Diced Tomato with green pepper, celery and onion
1-2 Cans Diced Tomato and green chilies
1 27 oz can of Dark Red Kidney Beans
1 lb Ground Beef
2 Lbs Stew Beef
Homemade chili powder or 2 Tablespoons store bought chili powder (basically to taste)

Directions:
Start by browning your ground beef in a skillet. while that's cooking add the tomato sauce, salsa, diced tomatoes, kidney beans and spices to either your crock-pot or a big pot. Once your ground beef is brown drain the fat and add cooked beef to the pot. In the same skillet brown the stew beef (if you're cooking in a pot make sure the beef is completely cooked through. If you're using a crock-pot just lightly brown the sides, it will cook the rest of the way in the crock-pot adding to the flavor) then add to the pot. Stir in the chili powder. (If using a pot let simmer for about 30 mins to an hour. If using a crock-pot let cook for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low.)

Makes approximately 20- 1 cup servings @ 268 cal
