Review: I wound up reading this in one sitting, yet I felt a little lost. I didn't read vol 1 and this volume seems to pick up in the middle of something dealing with an alt universe Superman and a dream eating bad guy. Let's just say I'm ok with missing this story line. Yet it does show us how Nightwing came to Bludhaven. And he's not the only Gotham reject, trying to get a new start here. Several of his former foes, are trying to also start over. He ends up leading a group of super villain rejects in an effort to clear their names.
I thought the plot was well done, and the writing good. It kept me reading and wanting to know how things would turn out. I wasn't crazy about the last installment of the volume though, as it was just to relationship based. I did like the cameo's from other superheroes, not just Superman and Batman. We got to see Starfire, Batgirl, and the Red Hood just to name a few.
The artwork was ok, a little dark and the coloring was a bit basic. Yet it worked for this, giving it a gritty feel.
Overall I enjoyed this and look forward to seeing what happens next.
