LATE NIGHT RADIO YOU CAN SINK YOUR TEETH INTO Recovering con artist Ciara Griffin is trying to live the straight life, even if it means finding a (shudder!) real job. She takes an internship at a local radio station, whose late-night time-warp format features 1940s blues, '60s psychedelia, '80s goth, and more, all with an uncannily authentic flair. Ciara soon discovers just how the DJs maintain their cred: they're vampires, stuck forever in the eras in which they were turned.
Ciara's first instinct, as always, is to cut and run. But communications giant Skywave wants to buy WVMP and turn it into just another hit-playing clone. Without the station — and the link it provides to their original Life Times — the vampires would "fade," becoming little more than mindless ghosts of the past. Suddenly a routine corporate takeover is a matter of life and undeath.
To boost ratings and save the lives of her strange new friends, Ciara rebrands the station as "WVMP, the Lifeblood of Rock 'n' Roll." In the ultimate con, she hides the DJs' vampire nature in plain sight, disguising the bloody truth as a marketing gimmick. WVMP becomes the hottest thing around — next to Ciara's complicated affair with grunge vamp Shane McAllister. But the "gimmick" enrages a posse of ancient and powerful vampires who aren't so eager to be brought into the light. Soon the stakes are higher — and the perils graver — than any con game Ciara's ever played...

Review:I have to admit this book wasn't like any I've read before. Ok at least vampire book wise. Ciara's slightly down on her luck and is trying to turn over a new leaf. The thing about Ciara is she's not all sun shine and gumdrops. She's done things she's not proud of and I felt this shady background actually added to Ciara making  her more real. When Ciara goes in for a job interview she never expects to be working with Vampires. Then she has to learn the truth about her new blood sucking co-workers the hard way.
One thing that bugged me through out the book was the DJ's would continually throw Ciara's old lifestyle back at her. Yes she grew up a con-artist and yeah she did a really bad thing, but she was trying to go straight.
As for the DJ's/ Vampires as secondary characters I liked them, I loved all the quirks they had at times it gave a little comic relief to tense situations. I wasn't crazy about Shane though, maybe what I should say is I had mixed feelings. Sometimes he's this great guy, and others he's acting like a totally pick. Being a child of the 90's I did love the references and adore his Pandora station.
The plot in the book, pulled me in as Ciara tries to bring the station back into the black and it seems everyone is resisting what she's doing at first. Then with a bit of mystery as things start getting tense with other vampires. The story has so many twists and turns with new discovers popping up, I couldn't put it down because I had to know what was going to happen. Topped off with an action packed ending that leaves you wanting more. I totally recommend this book to any Urban Fantasy lover.
